Gregory Hanners for Maury County School Board District 8

My mission is to prioritize the safety, success and well-being of every student in Maury County by fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.  As a 25-year resident of Maury County and the husband of a Central High School teacher, I share the concerns of many Maury Countians - we want the best for our children.  I bring my experience from 25+ years in private business, as a volunteer quality examiner for the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence, and from my work with youth as a BSA Assistant Scoutmaster. My son is a graduate of McDowell Elementary, Cox Middle and Spring Hill High, and a 2023 graduate of the University of Tennessee.  My extended family includes many public school teachers and administrators, so I can appreciate the challenges faced by students and teachers today.  In 2022 I worked as a substitute teacher and eventually worked full-time for 9 weeks at Central High teaching Business and Entrepreneurship. My goal as a board member is to increase parent and community involvement and support for our schools, so we can help every child reach their full potential.
